The World Rainforest Fund
The World Rainforest Fund is working to save rainforests throughout the world, with emphasis on the Amazon Rainforest. Rainforests are being destroyed at the rate of 300 acres per minute worldwide. This is equivalent to the loss of an area half the size of the state of California annually. Originally 14% of the world was covered by rainforest, and now only 6% remains, so already more than half the world's rainforests have been destroyed. About 50% of the world's species reside in rainforests. The destruction of rainforests is therefore causing the greatest mass extinction in the biological history of the earth.
The World Rainforest Fund is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. All members of the board of directors and staff are volunteers. The organization is a non-membership organization, so no money is spent on newsletters. Essentially all proceeds go directly to work saving earth's rainforests.
Please Donate to the World Rainforest Fund to further our work.
Land Acquisition
